Bible Journaling

In the beginning was the Word...

John 1:1

The first step is to open a bible and begin to read.  I recommend starting with the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Here you will learn who Jesus Christ is and all that He has for you.
Begin with choosing the type of bible you would like to use, there are many translations - New King James (NKJ), New International Version (NIV), Amplified (AMP), and many, many more.  The one I enjoy using for journaling is the New Living Translation (NLT) or The Passion Translation (TPT) it puts it into more of a easy translation and there others that you can use then for more in-depth study later.  Then find a journal that you really like and a good pen.

Reading the Bible for a few minutes a day is a good start and then increase that time as the days go on.  Put a reminder on your phone to spend that time in reading.
Write down the book, chapter(s), and verses you are reading, ex. is John 1 and 2.  Then when a verse grabs your attention write that full verse in your journal and what you are feeling about that verse, remember this is you journal nobody else's.
All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true.... 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
These Words have life in them because they were inspired by the Holy Spirit -
No true prophecy comes from human initiative but is inspired by the moving of theHoly Spirit upon those who spoke the message that came from God.  2 Peter 1:21
Be Creative and use color in highlighting verses or adding art work (which we will explore in art journaling) to your journal.
The most important is to start.

Journaling in a Bible is another form of Bible journaling.  I like to buy my favorite translation, not a real expensive  one, it can be from a discount book store.  This is taking your Bible and turning it into a journal that can be full of color, thoughts, and it can transform how you look at reading His amazing Word.  It is a very good way of making the Bible come alive to you personally.  As you meditate on what you can draw or write on the pages, you also begin to think on His Word and what it means to you.
You don't have to be an artist to do this.  I would get soft lead color pencils, because they won't tear the pages as easy as hard lead colored pencils.  Your favorite pen to write with.   Below are some examples that can get you started.  Remember the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy His Word.
